Jessie James McCarthy, Sr., 65, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La. died Monday, October 22, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Melodia Rita McCarthy; three sons, Jessie, Jr., Johnny, and Donald McCarthy; four daughters, Penny Stone, Donna McCarthy, Judy Hebert, and Trudy Hebert; three brothers, Curtis, Willie, and Carlis McCarthy; three sisters, Artice Crawford, Mary Ann Granier, and Margaret Granier; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alice Hebert McCarthy; his stepfather, Thomas Naquin; and one grandson.
Jessie was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. John Catholic Church in Thibodaux. He loved to hunt and fish.
Visitation is Wednesday, October 24, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at St. John Catholic Church. He will be buried in the church cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
