Joann “Mama Jo” Gillies, 74, a native of Port Huron, Mich. and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, June 5, 2011.
Ms. Gillies was a bus driver for the Terrebonne Parish School Board for 21 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she loved to cook for her family.
She is survived by her sons, Michael, Russell (Tammy) and James (Amber) Gillies; daughter, Cindy (Stacy) Mabile; brother, Eugene (Pat) Hassar; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Sophie Hassar.
Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2 at a later date. (Falgout)
