John Cecil Floyd MD, 55, a native of Rome, Ga., and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012.
Dr. Floyd earned degrees from the University of Georgia and Tulane University School of Medicine and practiced in Houma as an OB/GYN until late 2011. He loved his family, spending time with his children and their friends, cooking, hunting and visiting his parents in North Carolina. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children, Blake, Ben, Seth and Hope Floyd; former wife, Ann Floyd; stepchildren, Amanda, Butch and Will Reeves; their mother and his former wife, Patti Floyd; father, Cecil (Ladre) Floyd; and sister, Susan (Bob) Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Floyd. (Chauvin)
