John “Canoe” Collins Jr., 74, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Franklin, La., died Monday, April 2, 2012.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessie Curtis; son, John Collins; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Collins; daughter, Tammy Romero; grandson, Cameron Collins; granddaughter, Hope Romero; parents, John Sr. and Hilda Collins; and brothers, Paul, Adam and Joseph Collins.
Burial was at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Jeanerette, La. (Ibert’s)
