Joseph A. Guzzetta Jr., 92, a native of Berwick, La., resident of Morgan City, La., died Friday, March 30, 2012.


Mr. Guzzetta was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Normandy Invasion as a combat infantryman. He was owner of Morgan City Fence and Supply. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, VFW, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and AARP. He was active in the community and a member of the Atchafalaya Basin Levee Board.


He is survived by his children, Andrea (Robert) Craig, Peggy (Wiley) Magee, Lea Guzzetta, Lynn (Ricky) Romaire, Susan (Logan) Fromenthal and Paul (Torrie) Guzzetta; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Guzzetta; parents, Joseph Sr. and Salvina Guzzetta; brothers, Jake, Vincent and Nina Guzzetta; sisters, Jenny Costa and Mary Gougenheim; and one great-grandchild.

Internment was at Morgan City Cemetery. (Hargrave)
