John Dreux Belanger Sr., 84, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, April 15, at 11:35 p.m.
He is survived by his sons, John “Sonny” D. Belanger Jr. and wife Anita of Houma, and Charles Nicholas Belanger of Houma; daughter, Penny Ann Belanger of Houma; sister, JoAnn Belanger; former wife, Mary Lee Chatagnier Belanger; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert N. Belanger and Ancienne Chatagnier Belanger; and sister, Wendy Belanger Guillotte.
He was a truck driver for Beltec Spray Weld and Mechanical and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Lucy Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at Chauvin Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery at a later date.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
