John Mark Tackett

John Mark Tackett, 74, a native of Lake Village, Ark., and resident of Cut Off, La., died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Welch Tackett; sons, Steven and Bruce Tackett; brothers, Arvil and Montegomery Tackett; sisters, Sybil Gibson, Ester Carter, Vela Page, Anne Chaney, Lois Miller, Gracie Leininger and Georgia Jones; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ellis and Gracie Montegomery Tackett; and sisters, Helen Tackett, Hattie Robinson and Estelline Heartsfield.

Mr. Tackett was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, from 11 a.m. to funeral time, at South Lafourche Baptist Church in Larose. His funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 14, at the church.

He will be buried at Shiloh Cemetery in Spring Hill, La.
