John “JP” Parker, Jr., 68, a native of Bayou Sale, La., and resident of Patterson, La., died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Parker; mother, Tempie Parker; sons, John and Lynnis Parker and Chadwick and Ronald Gunner; stepsons, Brian, Ben, Darrell, Arnole and Leonard Collins; daughters, Stephanie Joseph and Tonya Gunner; stepdaughter, Wanda Griffin; brothers, Charles, Adolph Sr. and Timothy Parker; sisters, Rev. Rosie Austin and Mary Stansbury; eight grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 25 step great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Little Zion Baptist Church in Verdunville, La., with services to follow. Burial will be at Nazarene Cemetery. (Jones)
