Johnny Ray Lopez, 49, a native of Abbeville, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, December 14, at 8:38 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Lyn Flurry Lopez; mother, Lillie Mae Leisure Guillory and husband Derald Guillory; daughters, Lauren Elise Lopez and mother Sidera Adams, and Tia Foster and husband Billy Foster; sister, Debra Harper and companion David Adams; brothers, James Lopez and wife Janice, David Lopez and wife Michelle, and Michael Lopez and companion Connie Hodge; nephews, Rickie, Adam, Philip, and Robbie Harper; James and Gregory Lopez; Garret and Connor Lopez; cousin, Charles Leisure; mother and father- in-law, James W. and Mary Flurry; and grandchildren, Brooklyn Foster and Hunter Dupre.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Lopez.
He was retired from the Houma Police Department and was a salesman for Anson Flowline. He was a former representative for the Civil Service Board for six years, and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Police. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. He was a member of Living Word Church.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday December 18, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, December 19, at Chauvin Funeral Home with a religious service to follow.
