La. Legislature votes to abolish insurance regulating panel

Joseph A. Bilello, 90, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La. died Tuesday, July 3, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Cook Bilello; four sons, Michael, Gordon, Jeffery, and Dr. John Bilello; three daughters, Garnette Zeringue, JoAnn Bourque, and Gia Domangue; one brother, Anthony Bilello; fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonino and Lena Marcello Bilello; and five brothers, Lucien, Carlos, John, Sam, and Charles Bilello.
Joseph was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux. He a loving husband to his wife Anita for 64 years, whom he met and married in Hollywood, California.
He was a lifetime honorary member of the Vigilant Chemical and Hose Fire Company and a charter member and co-captain of the Krewe of Chronos. He was instrumental in organizing the Thibodaux High School Tiger Club and served as its first president. He was also a member of the Thibodaux Civic Center Building Committee and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus as a 4th degree knight. He was co-owner of Bilello’s Restaurant and Bilello’s Venetian Bar in Thibodaux.
He is buried at St. Jospeh Co-Cathedral Cemetery in Thibodaux.
Landry’s Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of the arrangements.
