Joseph Ray “Jamaica Joe” Simmons, 60, a native of Tylertown, Miss. and resident of Raceland, La., died at 1:13 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016.
He is survived by his sons, Ray Mitchell and Philippian Mitchell; daughter, Chanel Wright; mother, Mariah Conerly Simmons; brothers, Clifton Conerly and Marned (Jarnell) Simmons; sisters, Linda and Anna Simmons, Robin Bonvillian and Alisha Conerly; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time on Saturday, March 5 at Dularge Community Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Halfway Cemetery.
