Josephine Ann Malbrough Songy, 93, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday June 25, 2011.
“Mrs. Josie” was loved and enjoyed by all because of her wonderful personality and affection for all those around. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family and was active in all things related to her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and sewing and cooking for her family. She was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Barry (Rosemary) Songy Sr.; sister, Malvina Songy; brother, Anthony Malbrough; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Songy Sr.; parents, Anthony and Malvina Malbrough; son, Stanley Songy Jr.; and sisters, Mary Busch, Velma Myhan, Ismay Dicks, Nell Lenier, Helen Moore and Jeanette Songy.
The family would like to offer sincere thanks to the many caregivers at The Homestead, Bayou Home Health Care and Amedisys Hospice.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday June 28, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. (Chauvin)
