Flood year? Still too early to tell
January 31, 2012Joyce Ann Savoie Talbot, 78, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 7:02 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012.
Mrs. Talbot was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved cooking and baking for family and friends and will be forever remembered for her coconut cakes and pralines.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gilbert Talbot Sr.; son, Gilbert Jr. (Deborah) Talbot; daughter, Melinda Lantrip; brothers, Weldon and Carroll Savoie; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Abel and Stella Savoie; and brother, Irvin Savoie.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montegut, La., with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
