Joyce P. Melancon, 78, a native of Larose, La., and resident of Lockport, La., died Sunday, March 30, 2014.
She is survived by her sons, Donald Jr. (Ursula), Gordon and Louis (Amber) Melancon; daughter, Mary (Phillip) Tanner; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Melancon Sr.; parents, Louis and Blanche Penney; brothers, William, Walter and Milton Penney; and sisters, Doris Boudreaux, Rita Barrios, Ethel Hynyub, Dorothy Fritz and Mabel Penney.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, and 8 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport with burial at the church cemetery. (Falgout)
