Landon E. Plaisance, 76, a native of Cut Off, La., and resident of Chauvin, La., died Thursday, March 21, 2013.


Mr. Plaisance was a tugboat captain and owner of Skipper Ann Inc. He enjoyed farming, beekeeping and carpentry.


He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edith Plaisance; children, Lanny (Barbie), Bambi, Danny (Anita) and Mike Plaisance; brother, Herman (Margie) Plaisance; sisters, Rita Guidry, Irene (Gilbert) Griffin, Ramona (Jerry) Williams and Irma Hartman; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eves Sr. and Augusta Plaisance; brothers, Norman, Eves Jr., Augustine, Ernest and Paul Plaisance; and sisters, Alzina Gisclair and baby Plaisance.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, La., with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Elie Cemetery. (Samart)
