Larry Anthony Arceneaux, a native of Wallace, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 11 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011.


Mr. Arceneaux was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral where he was a Eucharistic Minister. He was involved in the community for the sick and home bound and was the founder of Rosaries for Nations. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War.


He is survived by his wife, Helen Arceneaux; sons, Brooks (Dianna) and Andre’ (Wendy) Arceneaux; daughters, Rene’ (Larry) Byers and Michele (Jessie) Thibodeaux; brothers, Richard, Thomas and Florian Arceneaux; sisters, Gloria Lanoix and Jean Olive; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Florian Arceneaux and Josephine Gravois; and brothers, Clarence, George and Robert Arceneaux.

Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 29 at Chauvin Funeral Home with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. (Chauvin)
