Larry T. Brock, 66, a native of Choupic, La., and resident of Pleasure Bend, La., died Thursday, April 7, 2011.


Mr. Brock was always a true Cajun gentleman, an avid outdoorsman, with intelligence and common sense. He had a generous heart and gave his all to his family and community. He was loyal to Jesus, a jokester and the heart and soul of his entire family. He always had the best hugs, good advice, a French expression and a beautiful smile. He served as an LSU Ag Center county agent, taught agriculture internationally and served honorably in the U.S. Army.


He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his former wife, Jeanette Duhe’ Brock; son, Andre’ (Tracey) Brock; daughter, Danielle (Chris) Mensman; brothers, Gerald (Kathy), Curtis (Susan) and Louis (Melissa) Brock; sisters, Roberta (Oscar) Verdun, Marie (Johnny) Rome, Della Brock and Maria (Mark) Riche; sister-in-law, Susan Brock; four grandchildren, Estelle, Joseph and Henry Mensman and Benjamin Brock; 21 nieces and nephews; and 30 great-nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Evariste and Elsie Chiasson Brock; and two brothers, Charles and Philip Brock.

Thanks go out to St. James and St. John Parishes Sheriff’s Offices, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the U.S. Coast Guard Port of South Louisiana and St. Tammany’s Volunteer Fire Protection and all who helped with the search.

He is buried at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie, La. (Landry’s)
