Dear Editor,

I am currently reading Eric Besson’s article concerning the potential addition to the Lafourche Parish jail in the April 6, 2011 edition of the Tri-Parish Times. I found the choice of title, “Lafourche resumes hunt for elusive white rabbit”, interesting. I must admit, I really didn’t understand its significance in relevance to the article. I am assuming it is an Alice in Wonderland reference. Or perhaps it refers to the Jefferson Airplane song entitled “White Rabbit.” Or maybe it refers to the good ol’ pulling the rabbit out of a hat magic trick.

Whatever the case may be, it struck up an interesting conversation at our workplace. So I am writing in part to thank you for sparking a comical conversation, but also to ask that you please explain your intended meaning.

I’m sure you never expected such a boring subject matter to get any attention, but your clever title led me to read an article that I otherwise would have had absolutely no interest in. I guess you did your job as a reporter!

Amy Danigole,

Raceland

Editor’s Note: The white rabbit reference was in connection with Alice in Wonderland, or even a magician’s search for the missing rabbit. We’re glad to hear it caused you to delve into the article, as Lafourche’s jail will be a chief concern in the coming months. Meanwhile, we apologize for the confusion.
