Leroy Joseph Chiasson Sr., 87, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012.
Mr. Chiasson was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, a retired 1st Sergeant with the Louisiana Army National Guard and a member of VFW Post 5097.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Hazel Chiasson; sons, Leroy, Henry and Timothy (Bobby Jo) Chiasson; daughter, Lynda (Paul) Chenier; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Celeste and Henry Chiasson; brothers, Lovincy, Wilson, Dave and Preston Chiasson; and sisters, Agnes Traigle, Lovinia Landry and Stella Chiasson.
Visitation will be 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Genevieve Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. (Thibodaux)
