Leroy “Yank” Rousse, 65, a native and resident of Cut Off, La., died Friday, August 22.


He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gay Alario Rousse; son, Joey Rousse and companion Terri Eymard; daughter, Landie Rousse Kiger and husband Keith Kiger; brothers, Ejay, Chester, Mike, Stanley, Rodney and Ozema Rousse; sisters, Octavia R. Lasseigne, Lorena R. Ledet and Janita R. Guidry; mother-in-law, Majorie Alario; and grandchildren, Jordy and Kacey Rousse and Keilan and Kainie Kiger.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Webb and Aza Bruce Rousse; son, Scott Rousse; daughter, Debbie Rousse; and father-in-law, Landon Alario.

He had a passion for cooking and feeding others brought him much joy. He will be sadly missed by all. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, August 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with mass to follow. He will be buried at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano, La.

Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of the arrangements.
