Levinia “Mia” Gisclair, 81, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Galliano, La., died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 4.


She is survived by her mother, Julia “Crow” Guidry Esponge; three daughters, Carol Lafont, Donna Lee and Sandy Vedros; one sister, Gerline Vizier; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Gisclair; her father, Provis “Crow” Esponge; one son, Ronald Gisclair; one daughter, Patricia “Patsy” Gisclair Borne; and one grandson, Joseph Lee.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post No. 315 and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, November 7, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off, La. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial at Cheramie Cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
