Louise Bonnet, 89, a native of Lafayette, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, Sept. 6.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Bonnet; one sister, Louise Mathews; three sons, Joseph Shelvin, Clayton Shelvin and Steve Bonnet; 28 grandchildren; and 56 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Esteve Bonnet; one son, Harry L. Bonnet; one daughter, Mary “Emma Jean” Dillard; and one sister, Edna Shelvin.
She was a member of Greater New St. Matthews Baptist Church where she was a member of the usher board.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at First Corinthian Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at New Rising Sun Baptist Church Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
