Louise Marie Poiencot Bonvillian, 84, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., went peacefully to be with the Lord Saturday, May 2.


She is survived by her sons, A.J. Bonvillian and wife Carmen, John Bonvillian and wife Mae, Kenneth Bonvillian and wife Debbie, and Perry Bonvillian; daughters, Brenda Voisin and husband Royce, and Connie Trahan and husband Darryl; brother, Randolph Poiencot of Berwick, La.; 30 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Murphy Bonvillian Sr.; son, Eugene Murphy Bonvillian Jr., parents, Aurelie Simon Poiencot and Jeane Marie Babin Poiencot; brothers, Edward Poiencot Sr., Johnny Poiencot and Reynold Poiencot; half-brothers, Henry Poinecot, Ivy Poiencot, Enos Poiencot, Aubrey Poiencot and Edward “Fish” Poiencot; sister, Mildred Poiencot Cadiere; half-sisters, Josephine Poiencot Demck and Celena Poiencot; great grandchild, Carla Bonvillian.

She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was a member of the East Park Ladies Auxiliary Society.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
