Mabel Ayo Pizzolato, 92 1/2, a native of Donner, La., and a resident of Terrebonne Parish, died at 3:15 p.m., Saturday, July 26.


She is survived by her son; Sammy Pizzolato and wife Sue Pizzolato of Houma, La.; four daughters, Joan Rodrigue and husband Val Rodrigue of Lockport, La., Diane Pierce and husband Raymond Pierce, Annette Rembert and husband Ken Rembert of Houma, and Sandra Bergeron and husband Jerry Bergeron of Thibodaux, La.; 15 grandchildren, Debbie Stevens, Michael Rodrigue, Rebecca Pitts, Valerie Martin, Robbie Rodrigue, Kim Eskind, Booger Pierce, Robert Martin, Lisa Fanguy, Jerry Bergeron II, Sandy LaJaunie, Dr. Greg Pizzolato, Tammy Songy, Chad Pizzolato and Kevin Pizzolato; 20 great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one niece, Gail Cook; and one nephew, Tommy Lawson.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Pizzolato; parents, Joseph Ayo and Ann Toups Ayo; one infant brother, Daniel; one sister, Gladys Brown; one son-in-law, Mike Martin; and one great-nephew, Jon Cook.

She was a former employee of A.M. and J.C. Dupont and homemaker. She loved working in her flower garden. She was a resident in The Homestead Assistant Living Complex in Houma, and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Chauvin Funeral Home with Liturgy of the Word to follow. She will be buried at Terrebonne Memorial Park.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
