Magnus “Butch” Joseph Eschete Jr., 64, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Chauvin, La. died Friday, June 29, 2007 at 6:58 pm.
He is survived by his mother, Hilda Foret Eschete; one son, Kevin Eschete and his wife Harmonie; four daughters, Linda McNeil and her husband, Michelle Terrebonne and her husband John, Doris Cass and her husband Ben, and Melissa Cordova and her husband Hector; three brothers, Charles Eschete and his wife Catherine, Gary Eschete and his wife Pat, and John Eschete; 15 grandchildren, Sarah Close, Rebecca Trosclair, Timothy Liming II, Zack and Jesse Bergeron, David, Amanda and Cameron Terrebonne, Tyler and Trevor Cass, Madison and Logan Eschete, Caleb and Christopher Cordova and Jade Eschete; five great-grandchildren, Heavenly Owens, Aiden and Gavin Close, and Kylie and Nathaniel Gibson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Magnus J. Eschete Sr.; and one brother, Calvin Eschete.
Magnus was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. He was employed by Gulf Stream Service for more than 22 years of dedicated service. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Visitation is Tuesday July 3, 2007 from 3:00pm until 10:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home and Wednesday from 9:00am until 10:00am at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, La., with the funeral to follow. He will be buried in the church cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
