Recovery’s been tough, but hospital emerges healthier

Manella Mary Verrett, 79, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Ashland North, La., died Saturday, Sept. 5, at 4:30 p.m.
She is survived by two sons, James and John Verrett; four daughters, Vivian Brunet, Shirley Verrett, Jane Guidry and Nancy Verrett; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Camille Verrett; parents, Volyse and Adele Billiot Verrett; one son, Jerry Paul Verrett; one daughter, Mary Ann Verrett; one brother, John G. Verrett; and one granddaughter, Loretta Brunet.
She was a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at St. Eloi Catholic Church with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Falgout Funeral Home in Houma, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
