Margaret Chaisson Bourgeois, 88, a native of Morgan City, La., and resident of New Iberia, La., died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013.
Mrs. Bourgeois was loving and kind to all who met her. She was a shining example to her family and loved ones and a great inspiration. She was an active member of Temple Baptist Church in New Iberia.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Gary) Ferritti, Tana (Harvey) Bouton, Mary (Ronnie) Kober, Bonita Fender and Rose (Ricky) Broussard; sons, John (Debbie), Gary Jr. (Susan), Michael (Joanne), Warren Sr., Anthony (Elizabeth) and Ronnie (Lisa) Alpha and Ira Bourgeois Jr.; sister, Jessie Lee Hebert; brother, Lamar (Dot)Chaisson; and numerous grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Bourgeois Sr.; parents, Dennis and Victoria Chaisson; seven brothers; four sisters; ex-husband and friend, Maxwell Alpha Sr.; son, Maxwell Alpha Jr.; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, and 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Twin City Funeral Home with services to follow. Interment will be at Morgan City Cemetery. (Twin City)
