Margie Navarre Boudreaux, 81, a native of Houma, La. and resident of Bayou Blue, La., died due to complications from cancer Monday, May 11, at 6:30 a.m.


She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Allen Boudreaux; two sons, Allen “Peat” Boudreaux Jr. and wife, Ann Tidwell Boudreaux and Michael “Mike” Boudreaux and wife, Deborah Porche Boudreaux, all of Bayou Blue; one daughter, Bonnie Boudreaux Lirette and husband, Leavence “Snuddy” Lirette of Bayou Blue. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Angelique Boudreaux Allemand and husband, Jeramie, Craig Allen Boudreaux and wife, Katie Pitts Boudreaux, Michele Boudreaux Adams and husband, Ronald Adams, Rebecca Lirette Ellender and husband, Gabe, Allen Lirette and fiance, Emily Gautreaux; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan Allemand, Emily Allemand, Jace Boudreaux, Gracie Boudreaux, Cari Plaisance, Dustin Adams, Madison Adams, and Brett Lirette; two sisters, Audrey Devalcourt of Lafayette and Virginia Hebert of Bayou Blue; four brothers-in-law, Adam Boudreaux, Louis Boudreaux, David Boudreaux, and Donald Boudreaux all of Houma; and four sisters-in-law, Isabelle Navarre of Bayou Blue, Delores Boudreaux, Moye Boudreaux, and Gloria Boudreaux all of Houma.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcellin Navarre and Jeannie Bergeron Navarre; and three brothers, Ernest, Norris, and Horace Navarre.

She loved being with her family and adored all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, giving grandmother, and doting great-grandmother. She was an avid reader, loved to sew, and despite being ill for several years, loved life. She was a retired office manager for the State of Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles. Until her health became an issue, she was an active member of the Bayou Blue Senior Citizens Group, where she served as member of the Board of Directors and also secretary.

Visitation will be at 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma and at 9 a.m. till funeral Thursday, May 14, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
