Marguerite Baudoin Benoit, 83, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 12:05 p.m. Friday, December 12.


She is survived by her husband, Andrew Clifton Benoit; one sister, Louise Baudoin Perez of Thibodaux; eight children, Judith Benoit of Texas, Edgar Benoit and wife Debbie of Schriever, La., Ransdell Benoit of Labadieville, La., June Benoit of Thibodaux, Jerome Benoit and fiancé Dian of Thibodaux, Mitchell Benoit and wife Melodia of Thibodaux, Pamela B. Dominique and husband Robert of Houma, La., and Sheila P. Gilbert and husband Michael of Thibodaux; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, John Baudoin and Henriette Ordogne; and six siblings, Henry Baudoin, Lucille B. Fremin, infant Anna Mae Baudoin, Sylvain H. Baudoin, Nelson J. Baudoin Sr. and Clifton Baudoin.

She was a lifetime member of American Ex-Prisoners of War. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Ferdinand Lefort Unit No. 11, Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Auxiliary No. 5097 and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, National Unit. She was Catholic and a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church where she was an honorary member of Christ the Redeemer’s Ladies Altar Society. She was a BISCO Leader and recipient of the Angel Award.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, at Thibodaux Funeral Home and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Thibodaux. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
