Maria Schmeling Collins, 84, a resident of Morgan City, La., died Wednesday, July 25, 2012.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas and James Collins; daughters, Karen Marin and Lynn Theriot; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand Schmeling and Wilhelmine Lech; husband Albert Collins; and brothers, Alfred and Johannes Schmeling.
Burial was at Berwick Cemetery. (Twin City)
