Franklin upgrades to water plant near halfway mark

Marie Lena Gregoire Verdin, 81, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Grand Isle, La., died Wednesday, September 24, at 5:55 a.m.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Gary, Allen, Joseph Stanley, Tommy Sr., Timmy and Jimmy Verdin; daughter, Lucretia Egbi; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Verdin Jr.; parents, Gilbert P. and Laura Billiot Gregoire; son, Paul Jerry Verdin; daughters, Theresa Geiling and Patricia Lee; brothers, Sidney, Cyril and Eloi Lodrigue, one infant Gregoire and one infant Lodrigue; and sisters, Cecile Billiot, Edna Lirette, Elda Gregoire, Estella Solet and Laura Lodrigue.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 27, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma with the funeral service to follow.
Samart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
