Mary Boyd Lee, 70, a native of Raceland, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010.

Mrs. Lee was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Thibodaux, as well as the Lafourche Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. She enjoyed cooking and babysitting.


She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Lee of Thibodaux; sons, Michael and Donald Lee, both of Thibodaux; sisters, Everlina (Burnell) Tolbert and Beatrice Steward of Thibodaux; brothers, Joseph and Ernest Boyd, both of Thibodaux, Junius (Rutha Mae) of Raceland and Harry Lee Boyd of Marrero; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Lee Sr.; parents, Eddie Sr. and Mamie Boyd; son, Roland Lee Jr.; daughter, Debbie Lee; brothers, Henry, Eddie Jr. and Tommy Lee; sister, Edna Victor; grandparents, Mary and Milton Harris, Johnny Sr. and Edna Boyd.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Thibodaux. A religious service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

She will be buried at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
