Sailing museums embark for Houma

February 19, 2012Mary “Jane” H. Franks, 72, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012.
Mrs. Franks was an avid gardener who loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband. She traveled extensively with her husband in the Air Force and volunteered at Kadene Air Base Hospital in Okinawa while he was stationed there.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Franks; sons, Larry (Trudy) and James (Peggy) Franks; daughter, Cherly (Lance) Benson; brothers, Anthony, Arthur, Jean, Ronald, Rodney, Frankie and Preston Hebert; sisters, Theresa Rhodes, Augustine Aizen, Pauline Souza and Yvette Hebert; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Odelon and Eva Hebert; and brother, Raymond Hebert.
Burial was at Garden of Memories Cemetery. (Falgout)
