Mary James “Mae Mae” Young, 88, a native of Hammond, La., and resident of Donaldsonville, La., died Tuesday, July 24, 2012.
Mrs. Young was a homemaker and deaconess at St. Phillip Baptist Church in Modeste, La.
She is survived by her son, Joseph (Lillian) Young; daughters, Rachel (Rev. Willie) Ford, Cinderella Cayette and Mary (Gerald) Taylor and Barbara (Julien) Millien; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eluies Young Sr.; parents, Henry and Elizabeth James; son, Eluies Young Jr.; daughter, Gwendolyn Rodrigue; brothers, August and Hannon Sr. James; and sisters, Celestine James, Geneva Davis and Lena Broussard.
Burial was at St. Phillip Baptist Church Cemetery. (Williams & Southall)
