Mary V. Hollie, 94, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, March 18, 2013.
Ms. Hollie was baptized in 1932 at Old Fountain Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a member and later as an elder for more than 80 years. She was a devout Christian and believed strongly in the Lord.
She is survived by her sons, Kerman and Keith Hollie; daughters, Cheryl Hebert, Margaret Noah, Rochelle Graham, Bessie Clement and Janise Moses; adopted son/grandson, Keith Hollie; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Matthew Hollie; daughter, Barbara Hollie; son, Lowell Hollie; sisters, Iona Greene and Mable Brown; brother, Rubin Brown; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Thibodaux with services to follow. Burial will be at Old Fountain Baptist Church Cemetery. (Landry’s)
