Mildred Margaret Bourg Voisin, 94, a native of Grand Caillou, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010.


Mrs. Voisin was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Caillou. She was also a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Ladies Firemen’s Auxiliary, Holy Family Finance Committee and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Voisin was a bookkeeper for Bourg and Voisin Seafood Company and president of Harry Bourg Company for 16 years.


She is survived by daughters, Loretta (Roy) Domangue-Alexander, Lydia Voisin; Marlene (Glenn “Taz”) Champagne and Elvira (Nathan) Barnhill; sons, Kervin (Anne), Russell (Bonnie) and Roland (Sharon Ledet) Voisin; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Dorothy Bergeron.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russel A. Voisin; infant daughter, Sylvia Marie Voisin; infant great-granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Domangue; sons-in-law, Jerry Domangue and James “Ta” Voisin; parents, Harry and Louise Samanie Bourg; brother, Albert Bourg; sisters, Nora Breaux-Chatagnier, Gertie Theriot, Evelina Gallier and Lena Martin.

She is buried at Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery.
