Milton James Marcel, 80, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, La., died at 10:19 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011.


Mr. Marcel was a material supervisor at Avondale and Raymond Fabricators. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member/parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church.


He is survived by his wife, Shirley Marcel; son, Stephen (Ellie) Marcel; daughters, Donna (Jerome) Luneau and Suzy (Sean) Greathouse; brother, Millard Marcel; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Edna Marcel; and sisters, Mary Boudreaux and Mildred Fonseca.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with burial to follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. (Chauvin)
