Moses Johnson, 65, a native and resident of Thibodaux, LA., died Friday, January 12, 2007.


Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Third Zion Baptist Church in Raceland, LA. The religious service will be at 11 a.m. at the Church with burial in the church cemetery.


He is survived by his wife, Leotha Johnson of Thibodaux; one son, Mark Johnson of Raceland; two daughters, Vanessa Lumar of St. James, LA. and Sarah Johnson of Vacherie, LA.; one brother Robert Johnson of Thibodaux; one stepbrother, Larry Fletcher of Thibodaux; five sisters, Shirley Johnson, Ruth L. Watkins and husband, Rev. Ernest Watkins and Judy Johnson of Thibodaux, Cora Dumas and husband, Solomon and Celestine Bathley and husband, Ray of Baton Rouge, LA.; two stepsisters, Mary Fletcher and Regina Mitchell of Thibodaux; He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Vienta Johnson; one daughter, Janis Carr; one son, Moses Frederick Johnson; one sister, Mary Lee Johnson; two brothers, Clarence Johnson and Albert Lee Johnson; grandparents, Willie and Mariah Davis and Bertha Triggs and Elijah Johnson.

He was Baptist. His hobbies included fishing and watching football games.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland will be in charge of arrangements.
