Mr. Benjamin Theriot Sr., 76, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, Oct. 22.
He is survived by his sons, Benjamin Jr., Raynell, Corie and Robert (Judy) Theriot; daughters, Cynthia (Donald) Billizon, Sandra Cooper, Nedra, Cheri and Omeika Theriot, Darlene (Kevin) Harris and Marion (Zandi) Ghanore; sister, Sadie (Burnell) Dorsey; 33 grandchildren: 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred S. Theriot; parents, James and Sadie Matthews Theriot; son, Michael L. Theriot; daughters, Hilda T. Lewis, Darlene Theriot and Baby Theriot; brothers, James P. and Oliver Theriot; sister, Eleanor T. Ashbey; and grandparents, Joseph and Priscilla Cooks Matthews.
He was Baptist and a welder.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Community Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Residence Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with burial at Union Benevolent Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
