Putting the property tax issue into perspective

November 16, 2009Mr. Earl Ray “Sip” Mire, 74, a native and resident of Morgan City, La., died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie Verret Mire; sons Ronald (Roxanne) and E.J. Mire; daughters Pam (Louie) Soto and Regina Ryker; sister, Phyllis Gorsha; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Elodie Blanchard Mire; and four brothers.
He had a very giving spirit, generous heart and was full of life. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His passion was going to Antique Car shows. He had a great sense of humor and was quite a joker.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at Morgan City Cemetery.
