February 19, 2013Murphy Joseph Bourg, 83, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013.
Mr. Bourg was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was well known for his countertop and flooring work he did for over 50 years. He was a man of many stories and his grandchildren always looked up to him.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hilda Bourg; sons, Sterling (Granada) and Jody Bourg; daughters, Nelda (Willard) Lapeyrouse and Bessie (James Jr.) Burton; sister, Rosella Thibodaux; brother, Donald (Kathleen) Bourg; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanson and Eva Bourg; son, Reginald Bourg; and sister, Ismay Lapeyrouse.
Burial is at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. (Chauvin)
