Nathaniel “Jay” Wellington White Jr., 61, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, July 2.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Billiot-White; one son, Edward D. White; five daughters, Nakeshia White, Markesha White, Tranice Liner, Tanna White and Tammy White; one step-daughter, Jessica Trahan; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Nathaniel W. White Sr. and Olivia White; one brother, Clarence “Bill Dudley” Hawkins; two sisters, Leontine White-Scoby and Olivia Evans; and grandparents, Daniel White and Irene Picou White.
He was a member of Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church and enjoyed horse racing, gardening and fishing.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Community Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at Dewyville Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
