Nolan Joseph Brown, 57, a native of Lafourche Parish, LA. and resident of Raceland, LA., died Thursday, April 05, 2007.


Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. Religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church. Burial will be in the Young Ladies Benevolent Cemetery in Raceland.


He is survived by five daughters, Nicole Dorsey of Monroe, LA., Cindy Harris and Brandy Perdue of Raceland, Tasha Young and Chasity Young of Luling, LA.; stepdaughter, Mary Hester of Raceland; three sons, Brad Young and Quinton Young of Luling and Nolan Harris of Raceland; two stepsons, Louis Floyd and Eric Duncan of Raceland; two brothers, Robert Lee Brown of Raceland and Roy Brown of Avondale, LA.; six sisters, Vercelee Smith and Danna’ B. White of Thibodaux, LA., Mary Ingram of Gonzales and Agnes Reado, Mary Alice Brumfield and Mary Folse of Raceland; He is also survived by two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his common law wife, Mamie Duncan; parents, Edward Sr and Agnes Charles Brown; one son, Edmond Young; stepdaughter, Mary Ann Duncan; one sister, Aldonia Brown; three brothers, Edward Brown Jr., Octave Brown and Clinton Brown; paternal grandparents, Edward Sr and Mary Brown; maternal grandparents, Reiley and Octave Charles; and God father, Calvin Smith Sr.

He was Baptist.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
