Olevia Triggs Smith, 87, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Monday, March 10.


She is survived by her sons, Kerry Smith Sr. and Kevin Smith of Raceland, and Henry Smith Jr. of Lockport, La.; daughters, Eunice Gray of Raceland, Julia S. White of Boutte, La., and Elise S. Boyd of Schriever, La.; sister Bertha Zardis of New Orleans, La.; brother, Freddie Griffin of Thibodaux, La.; fourteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Smith Sr.; parents, Mack Nathaniel and Bertha Triggs; brothers, Henry Williams, Ennis Griffin, Taylor Johnson and Arthur Triggs.

She was a member of Third Zion Baptist Church and served on the Deaconess Board.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at Third Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. The religious service will be at 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, at the church. Dismissal Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at the church. She will be buried at Brooklyn Cemetery in Raceland.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
