Peggy Ponvelle Stroud, 69, a native of Labadieville, La., and longtime resident of Morgan City, La., died at Terrebonne General Medical Center on Monday, Feb. 8, 2010.


Mrs. Stroud is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas C. Stroud III; sons, Shane (Nora) of New York, and Keith (Jane) Stroud of Bayou L’Ourse; daughters, Jaime (Michael) Thibodeaux of Morgan City, and Tammy (Larry) Theriot of Berwick; nine grandchildren; mother, Marie Ponvelle; brothers; Elvin (Barbara), Resley (Pat) and Carroll (Verna) Ponvelle; and sister, Diane Gaudet.


She was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Ponvelle; and stepbrother A.J. Ponvelle.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, and 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday, Feb. 12, at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church.

She will be buried at Morgan City Cemetery.

Hargrave Funeral Home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.
