Philip “Pete” Joseph Duplantis, 86, a native of Little Caillou, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died at 12:43 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015.

Mr. Duplantis had a very strong faith in God and was a member of St. Francis Cathedral. He was a retired building contractor. Mr. Duplantis is also the last surviving founding member of the Whiskey Pass Rodeo Association. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria “Billie” Blanchard Duplantis; sons, Doyle and Lynn (fiancée: Debra) Duplantis; daughters, Roxanne (Billy) Jones and Melinda “Mindy” Green; sister, Mona (Leroy) Songe; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
