Philip Rodney LeCompte Sr., 87, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012.

Mr. LeCompte was the retired owner of Philip LeCompte and Sons Inc. contracting business. He was one of the founders of the Bayou Dularge Volunteer Fire Department, a past board member of the St. Eloi Catholic Church and the St. Gregory Catholic Church, a past member of the Moose Club and The Stinkers and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.


He is survived by his children, Philip Jr. (Gail), Glenn (Debbie), Lynn (Jan) and Tommy (Stephanie) LeCompte, Connie (Raymond Jr.) Boudreaux and Annette (Lloyd) Poiencot; sister, Kate (Jimmy) Graham; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth LeCompte; parents, Paul and Nettie LeCompte; son, Terry LeCompte; brothers, Bennie, Roy, Bobby and J.P. LeCompte; sisters, Jeanette Domangue, Alice Sonnier and Norma Robichaux; and great-grandchild, Derrick Porche.

Burial was at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. (Chauvin)
