Rachel Delatte Cortez, 52, a native and resident of Choctaw, LA., died Tuesday, March 13, 2007.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at St. James Chapel in Choctaw. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Lester Cortez Sr.; one son, Lester Cortez Jr.; one daughter, Mandy Cortez Mahler and husband, Wyatt; three brothers, John Delatte Sr., Claude “C.J.” Delatte Jr. and Harold Delatte; one sister, Hazel Benoit; and two grandchildren, Kaylee and Tate Mahler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Delatte Sr. and Agnes Orgeron Delatte.
She loved spending time with her family. She liked playing bingo, going to the camp and fishing. She especially loved spending time with her two grandchildren.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
