Verdie Folse LeBlanc, 77, a native and resident of Thibodaux, LA., died peacefully at her daughter’s home after a battle with cancer, Friday, March 9, 2007.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay, LA. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.


She is survived by her husband, Calvin “Ellis” LeBlanc; one daughter, Gwen Battaglia and husband, Michael; two grandsons, Toby and Blake Battaglia; one great-grandson, Cade Battaglia; one sister, Joan Morvant; two brothers, Bobby and Frank Folse; and many nieces and nephews who adored her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Folse Jr. and Gertrude Zeringue Folse; and one brother Ralph Folse Sr.

She was a member of New Life Prayer Group, TOPS and Our Lady of Prompt Succor choir. She was involved in several ministries and was known by many for her “hotline to heaven”. She enjoyed dancing, fishing and a monthly casino trip.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
