Ralph David Zeringue Sr., 60, a native of Thibodaux, LA. and resident of Raceland, LA., died Sunday, January 14, 2007.


A private service was held Saturday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland.


He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Donna Smith Zeringue; his sons, Ralph David Zeringue Jr. and William Frantz Zeringue; his brother, Don Francis Zeringue, and his sister, Peggy June Zeringue Clause.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Verdir Jean and Effie Marie Gros Zeringue; and one brother, Dr. V. J. Zeringue.

He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and he was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, and a member of the Crockette Hunting Club of Texas, the Raccourci Hunting Club, the Lake Theriot Fishing Club and the Bayou Dularge Hunting Club.

He was an LSU graduate and retired from Exxon/Mobil after 29 years.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
